The Corrosion Technologist exam is designed to ensure that the candidate has a good understanding of the theory of corrosion and corrosion prevention, has a working knowledge of all types of corrosion and means of prevention, as well as, knowledge and experience within this particular field of specialization or activity.

Requirements for Corrosion Technologist Certification

Option 1
Requirement
  • 4 years work experience

  • One of the following:
  • Certification – Corrosion Technician
  • Successful completion of NACE Basic Corrosion e-Course and Exam
  • And one of the following active certifications:
    • Certification – CP Specialist
    • Certification – CP Technician
    • Certification – CP Technologist
    • Certification – CP Tester
  • And one of the following active certifications:
    • Successful completion of Course and Exam – CIP Level 1 (NACE)
    • Successful completion of Course and Exam – PCS 1 Basic Principles (NACE)
    • Course – Protective Coatings and Linings 1 (NACE)
    • Course – Protective Coatings and Linings 2 (NACE)

    4 years corrosion work experience
    Core Exam Requirement
    Certification Exam – Corrosion Technologist Exam

    Certification candidates must apply for this certification by submitting an on-line application which is subject to approval.

    Apply for Certification

    Upon successful completion of requirements, the candidate will be awarded a Corrosion Technologist Certification.
