Prerequisite

Algebra and Logarithm training

Successful completion of all CP Technician requirements or equivalent training

Work Experience

8 years verifiable work experience in Cathodic Protection

It is strongly recommended that candidates complete the following course:

NACE CP 3-Cathodic Protection Technologist Course

Core Exam Requirement 1

Certification Exam - CP Technologist Essay Exam

Note: This exam is available at the end of the NACE CP 3 - Cathodic Protection Technologist Course. English essay exams will be graded on a 3-4 month cycle. All translated essay exams will be graded on a 8-12 month cycle.

To begin the certification process:

Application Submission

  • Certification candidates must apply for this certification by submitting an on-line application which is subject to approval.
  • Certification candidates have four (4) years to complete all requirements, including a successful completion of the exam, and an approved application with the required work experience and education requirements.

Upon successful completion of requirements, the candidate will be awarded a NACE CP Technologist Certification.

Certification renewal requirements

  • An approved Recertification application is required every 3 years
  • 24 Professional Development Hours (8 hours per year)
  • 1.5 year’s work experience
  • Renewal Fee
    • Members - $240 USD
    • Non-Members - $450 USD
